Why won’t the PES file open in my older version of Brother PE-DESIGN?

PES files have several different versions, and some older versions of Brother PE-DESIGN can only open earlier PES formats. This does not necessarily mean the downloaded design is damaged.

If your PES file will not open, please contact us with the name of the purchased design, your version of PE-DESIGN, your embroidery-machine model, and a screenshot of any error message. We may be able to resave the design in an earlier PES format that is compatible with your software.

Why does Embrilliance say the design is a demo file or prevent me from saving it?

The SUNSINSTUDIOS embroidery file you purchased is not a demo file. This message normally relates to the mode or licensing of the Embrilliance software, or to another element that has been added to the project.

Start a new project and open the original downloaded embroidery file by itself, then try saving it without adding fonts, lettering, or another design. If it saves normally, one of the added elements or features is causing the warning. If it still will not save, confirm that you opened Embrilliance Express rather than Demo Mode, or confirm that your paid Embrilliance product is activated.

Free Embrilliance Express can create and save lettering made with supported BX fonts, but it cannot combine that lettering with an imported stitch file such as a PES design. If you do not need to edit the design, use the original downloaded PES file directly with your embroidery machine without opening and resaving it. If the problem continues, please contact us with a screenshot of the complete message and the Embrilliance version or mode you are using.
